Program Objectives

The East King Improvement District is a community development program located in the Historic East Side of Lancaster City. Created in partnership by six local organizations, the East King Improvement District's mission is to enhance our community in the Historic East Side so that our neighborhood is an even greater place to live, work, and invest.

The neighborhood team, consisting of a director, two neighborhood coordinators, an economic coordinator, and an associate economic coordinator has become a growing and active presence in the community with a number of program initiatives in process.

Our program objectives are:

• Building community among residents in the neighborhood
• Supporting neighborhood improvement and beautification projects
• Increasing homeownership
• Supporting existing businesses and stimulating new business development
• Supporting educational programs to the community
